The professional instruction offered at Foxwood Farms by Susan Wainwright and her employees, is the best in the area. Susan is a life time equestrian dedicated to pursuing excellence with horses and students.
Susan has successfully bred, trained and competed many horses in the Eventing world from Novice Horse Trials up through Advanced Three Day Events including the renowned Rolex KY, Fair Hill MD, Bromont Canada, Radnor PA and Essex NJ. She and her horse, Winston Himself, were long listed for the 1996 Olympic Three Day Event Team. She and her horse Hunter, won the American Eventing Championships in 2006. Susan and her horses have won multiple National Horse of the Year awards and many Area III Championships at all levels.
In the Dressage world she has bred, trained and competed many horses against some of the best in the country. She has competed and won through the Prix St. George level. Susan is currently showing at 4th level and scores in the mid 60's consistently.
Susan has been fortunate enough to have been taught by some of the world's best teachers and coaches such as: Jimmy Wofford, Bill Woods, Dorothy Maxfield, Jeremy Beale, Karen O'Connor, Torrance Watkins, Ulrich Schmitz, Gigi Nutter and Peter Gray.
Susan's students and their horses have won numerous awards at every level of equestrian competition and are consistent, confident competitors. She is also available for coaching at shows, teaching clinics and will assist clients through the horse purchasing process.
Susan served as Area Chairman for the United States Eventing Association (USEA) from 1984-1987 and was then elected to serve on the Board of Governors for USEA from 1987-1990.
As a founding member of the Montgomery Area Dressage and Combined Training Association (MADCTA) Susan has served on the board numerous times. She has hosted many dressage shows, combined tests and clinics for MADCTA at Foxwood Farms.
Susan is a founding member of the popular 3 Ring Horse Show Series and hosts several shows in that series each year, including the Year End Championship Show.
Annie Aul - Barn Manager, Assistant Trainer & Instructor
Annie Aul joined the Foxwood Farms staff in July 2011.
She brings to Team Foxwood an amazing gift of riding and training horses and teaching lessons at all levels. Annie is a very successful Eventer who has been riding since the age of 6 and has competed through the CCI** Level. Born in Georgia, her family moved to a farm in Lanett, AL where Annie took on the responsibility of taking care of the barn and her horses at a young age. She has a BS in Equine Science from Auburn University. While she attended Auburn, she work and trained at a boarding barn where she also taught lessons and trained horses for Eventing and Hunter/Jumpers. As a young rider, she competed in the 2004 North American Young Riders Championships, placing 5th individually. She has trained with Canadian Olympians Mike Winter and Kyle Carter, as well as other CCI**** riders such as Jonathan Holling. Annie enjoys coaching and bringing along riders and horses and watching their confidence grow. She and her horse Aron are aiming for their first Advanced season in the spring of 2012, and her ultimate goal is to represent the USA in international competitions.
